announcing our next senior pastor - johnny pereira

We wanted to follow up to share with those of you who were not able to join us in our Sunday services the last couple of weeks some exciting news relating to our Senior Pastor Search. As you know over the past few months, we have been conducting an ongoing search for our next Senior Pastor. Several weeks ago, we had the privilege of having Johnny and Lori Pereira join our church for an evening Q&A session and were blessed to have Johnny preach in our Sunday morning services. That weekend was the culmination of a process through which the elders have been seeking the Lord’s desire for the pastoral leadership for our church. We believed the Lord was leading us to call Johnny as our next Senior Pastor, and as we sought input and feedback, we were encouraged as that calling was confirmed through the overwhelming response of our church body.

As we shared in our recent services, we extended an offer to Johnny to join us as the next Senior Pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel of Winston-Salem, and we are pleased to be able to share that he has accepted that calling. Johnny and Lori prepared this video for our church, which we shared in our services on Sunday:

For the past several years Johnny, his wife Lori, and two children, have been living in Naples, Florida, where Johnny has served as the Campus Pastor of Summit Church, an Acts 29 church in the Fort Myers, FL area. In recent months, he began to feel God calling him to join Harvest Bible Fellowship, and he is currently going through the Harvest Training Center in Elgin, IL, which will conclude in mid-December.

Johnny and Lori will be moving to Winston-Salem in late December, and we look forward to formally installing Johnny as our next Senior Pastor in early January. If you did not have a chance to meet Johnny and Lori during their visit, they will be in town for a couple of weekends in November and December (the first will be the weekend of November 6). We will keep you posted on those plans.

Lastly, we want to say that we are so thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness to our church body during a long season of transition. Through times of change and uncertainty, we are so blessed to serve a God who is unchanging, who sees and knows all things, and who is ever faithful to His people. We also have the tremendous blessing of being able to serve and worship in a community of people who, though flawed, are committed to our calling to glorify God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission as we seek to worship, walk, and work for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are so thankful for each of you.

You are loved!
